2020 Broker Holiday Gift Guide

While we may not be celebrating the holidays in person this year, there are a number of ways to show you care.

Keep reading for some compliant 2020 Holiday gift ideas that mortgage brokers can share with their B2B clients and borrowers. *Be sure to adhere to the RESPA rules regarding gift giving.

For the Home - people are spending significantly more time at home these days, so you might consider a gift such as: a soft, cozy blanket. Blankets make a great gift as they are used by about everyone. Give your blanket a personalized touch by getting the recipient's name embroidered. Other home-inspired gift ideas are candles, wooden snack bowls, unique tea towels, and so on. Think of an item that will last a while around the house and as a result, recipients are more likely to keep you top of mind.

Gourmet Gift Baskets - You can never go wrong with a gift that includes edible bites, such as chocolate, nuts (unless they are allergic), cookies, cheeses, and so much more.  Many websites offer a variety of gift baskets ranging from food themed baskets to special occasion gift baskets. Another reason people enjoy receiving gift baskets is they can be shared among family at home.

Flowers & Plants - Flowers make great gifts, especially when the delivery is unexpected. The choices are plentiful, from boxed roses to seasonal floral bouquets arranged in unique vases to plants such as cactus or bonsai. Best of all, most can be delivered on the same day you ordered.

Locally Sourced Contents: Another great direction to go in for agent gifts is to find locally sourced items. This is a great way for you to get creative and showcase some locally sourced artisan brands. Some ideas include locally made salsa, jams, or candies. Maybe an independent bakery might sell the best house made bread that your agent doesn't know about... yet.

Celebratory Vibe - Think a bottle of bubbly, champagne flutes, and some nice chocolates. Or you could put together a charcuterie board with a bottle of wine.  This is a little more traditional, and some might even say expected, but if you focus on presentation and quality over quantity, your gifts are sure to have an impact!

*Most importantly, don't forget to include a heartfelt, handwritten note. A branded card with a sincere heartfelt note of gratitude is the perfect touch to any gift. When you take a well-curated, intentionally-designed gift (which shows you care) and then pair it with the words to match (which also shows you care), you're creating an actual experience for your clients that will stick with them for months and years to come. Don't miss an opportunity and simply include a card with "to & from." Take the extra moment to write a note of thanks.
